GRA Acquired by
Charles Schwab Investment Management

Charles Schwab Investment Management (CSIM), the asset management arm of The Charles Schwab Corporation, announced that on January 1, 2007 it completed the acquisition of substantially all of the assets of Global Real Analytics, LLC (GRA), the San Francisco-based commercial real estate investment research and consulting company. The GRA team will play an integral role in developing and managing a new set of real estate products that CSIM plans to add to its current suite of index, fixed income, and actively-managed equity funds (0107-5425).

SP/GRA Commercial Real Estate Indices

GRA and Standard & Poor’s (S&P) are offering a series of commercial real estate indices (SPCREX) for trading futures and options on futures based on commercial real estate transaction prices. S&P licenses the indices to investment banks for over-the-counter (OTC) trading and to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) for exchange-based trading. Ten standard indices are offered – one national composite, four property sectors, and five geographic regions – with customized market indices available via licensing agreements with S&P.
